These are the mounting pads we use as an alternative to cork. The material itself is made from woven/spun nylon filaments which are all kind of glued together, the result is a super almost indistructable mounting pad with a matrix that is ideal for epiphytic orchids root system - especially small - medium plants.
This product reminds me of a synthetic osmuda fibre, (the roots of an Osmunda fern) used from the 18th centrury till today
